I have searched the entire internet now without finding an answer related to my problems. First it hangs when i start dreamweaver for about seconds. After that it starts to hang when i finish writing something. I can write one line then wait 2 seconds and it starts to hang. It also hangs when i save files.

Everytime it hangs i get not responding in the dreamweaver window. It hangs for about seconds. I have tried to delete the cache file without any difference. I have tried various regedit fixes without luck.

I have reinstalled and deleted all kind of preferences. I have disabled "Enable related files". The only remaining option is to format the computer and reinstall everything. Maybe when you open file, the DW will contact with the server and it takes time. When you save file too. You can disconnect to the server and do your job after that you will commit it soon. To disconnection. Choose your site. I added comments to my CSS file to increase the size above , but it's still crashing. Someone said something about rebuilding the site cache. How do you do that if you can't get Dreamweaver to open in the first place?

I had the same problem and here is a fix. DWCS3[9] can't find it's files or site cache - usually manifests if I delete site files outside DW from a network drive..

Thank you so much for the info, it is by far the weirdest bug ever, I added a couple of lines to the last css file I was working on and DW opened up fine afterward. Does anyone know if there's a plug to fix that?

I would not believe this fix if I didn't see it with my own two eyes. Just added a few comments to a CSS file and voila! Dreamweaver opens again. This is a crazy bug. OMG - I had two files of 8, bytes.

I've been using Dreamweaver for several years now and today was the first time I had experienced this super annoying bug! I deleted a bunch of unnecessary comments from my CSS in Notepad - yay! Thanks so much for posting. You've saved me from SO much frustration. Markus 6, Expert 4TB. What a strange bug Frinavale 9, Expert Mod 8TB. This is a very strange bug.

Every time I have to fix my friend's website which is generated by dreamweaver I'm disgusted by the amount of unnecessary stuff that dreamweaver adds. It's horrible that Dreamweaver crashes because of files simply being larger than 8K, especially since it adds unnecessary stuff I just encountered this bug. How bizarre. Thanks to those who posted this bug here, otherwise I'd have spent a couple of hours uninstalling and reinstalling CS3 Remarkable that Adobe haven't come up with a fix for this yet.

Azhar Kamar 1. Thanks for this! You know how shitty it feels when a program misbehaves like this and you don't know the cause. Dreamweaver has corrupted a file in your current site and when it tries to open that site, it flat-out dies. Whatever Dreameaver does to the CSS file to corrupt it is insidious and invisible.

Hopefully this helps. Good luck! Icrontic — Home of the Big Beef Burrito since , fool. Sign In Become an Icrontian. Howdy, Stranger! Sign In Register. Close Dreamweaver. Copy all your non-CSS files into it.

Pro tip: You probably had it open when the trouble started. Get that CSS file out of there cut-n-paste to your desktop and make sure everything else works fine.
